THOMAS ROWLANDSON (1757-1827)

Rowlandson produced watercolours as finished works for sale to collectors as well as preparatory studies for his prints. This wonderful example of Rowlandson’s exuberant drawing style is one of a group of watercolours of women drinking that Rowlandson probably made around 1800. It has been placed into a contemporary mount for pasting into an album.
