Fishmarket at Brighthelmstone

A watercolour of boats pulled onto the shore at Brighton (then known as Brighthelmstone). Freshly caught fish are being sold on the beach. It may have been made from studies taken by Rowlandson on his trip to the town with Henry Wigstead, which was to form the basis of the illustrated publication An Excursion to Brighthelmstone.
