Dressing for a Birthday.

A hand-coloured print of two women dressing for a royal birthday party. On the left, a bald headed stout lady admires herself in a mirror supported by a boy who plays with a dog as an enormous wig is placed on her head. On the right, a young woman is having her hair dressed as she is shown a new dress by an older woman wearing a wide brimmed hat. Inscribed in the plate: Rowlandson 1788 / Design'd & etch'd by Tho Rowlandson. / Publish'd as the Act directs, March 3 1788 by F Chesham & M Hatton No 32 Pall Mall
