Extracts from Queen Victoria’s journal relating to life at Balmoral were published in 1868, followed by a sequel in 1884. This beautifully illuminated volume is a Persian translation of the latter publication. Gold has been used on the opening two pages, both in the arabesque borders, and to provide the dedicatory text on the right-hand page which translates as: ‘God is Almighty / From the royal biography / The compositions of her supreme exalted Majesty, Queen of England / Her Dignified status’.
