GERALD BENNEY (1930-2008)

Goblet

hallmark 1978

RCIN 29115

Gerald Benney was one of the most prominent goldsmiths and designers of the post-war period. His works are notable for their strong geometric forms and innovative use of texture. With this goblet Benney contrasts the highly burnished gold surface of the bowl with the matted surface of the stem and the delicate shades of the enamel, which evoke a thistle.
