      In the 1980s Warhol produced a series of monumental images of the four female ruling monarchs of the time. He based his vividly-coloured screenprints of Her Majesty The Queen on the official Silver Jubilee portrait photograph taken by Peter Grugeon at Windsor Castle on 2 April 1975 and released in 1977.
