Hartnell’s closely-fitted evening dress was worn for the return State Banquet during the State Visit of King Baudouin and Queen Fabiola of Belgium, May 1963. The delicate silk tulle of the dress is entirely covered with fine vermicelli embroidery in a geometric pattern.
