The plates were accompanied by a text and descriptions of the processes by which they had been made. The Garden Chair has a poem on the same theme by Dinah Maria Mulock, and the notes reveal that it was 'taken on Collodion, September 11 1854, about 1 pm in fine sunshine; exposure five seconds; developed with Pyrogallic Acid.
