Contemporary red goatskin, double fillet border containing a central panel of multiple-fillet borders with decorations in the corners of a closed flower tool and to the sides with triangular tools of volutes , the central panel elaborately tooled with volutes, flower-heads and dots, the arms of James II blocked in gilt and added later, the spine in seven panels all tooled in gilt, edges all gilt and tooled in blind, the fore-edge also tooled with the arms of James II, comb-marbled end-leaves.
