The Dance of Death (The Prince), after Holbein

A watercolour copy, same size, of the woodcut by Holbein (c.1524) showing Death reaching for a Prince. It is mounted on a small bevelled wooden panel, branded with Charles I's cipher (CR). The work has been attributed to Peter Oliver by a number of writers, among them J. Finsten (in 'Isaac Oliver: Art at the court of Elizabeth I & James I', New York and London, 1981, pp.146-7).
