The church, monastery and Scuola of Santa Maria della Carità on the right are now the Gallerie dell’Accademia. Canaletto conceived this view as a wide panorama from multiple viewpoints. Some buildings along the right bank have been eliminated and those on both sides of the Canal reduced in scale.
