The Mount of Olives and Garden of Gethsemane [Jerusalem]

2 Apr 1862

RCIN 2700922

The Mount of Olives rises to the east of old Jerusalem. It has been used as a Jewish necropolis and cemetery for several thousand years. For Christians, the site is also significant as the place where Jesus taught and spoke to his disciples, and from where he ascended to heaven. Acquired by the Prince of Wales, 1862
