Fountain of Sultan Selim [Fountain of Ahmed III, Istanbul, Turkey]

This ornate fountain was built in 1728 in front of the Imperial Gate of the Topkapi Palace. In 1862, the Ottoman royal family inhabited the Topkapi Palace and consequently Bedford was not able to visit or photograph within the palace grounds. The Prince of Wales, however, was taken inside the palace on a private visit. Acquired by the Prince of Wales, 1862
