Our Princesses in 1942

Lisa Sheridan, the portrait photographer who worked under the professional name of Studio Lisa, was given Queen Elizabeth’s permission in 1940 to publish a volume of photographs of the two Princesses. They were taken over several visits to Royal Lodge that spring, to show the Princesses engaged in different activities, such as gardening, riding and playing with their dogs.

Two year later, a new series of photographs was taken. The book cover shows The Queen with her daughters on the steps between the East Terrace Garden and the Home Park at Windsor.
