    Circular, with rounded sides and straight foot, the cover flat-topped, the base black-lacquered and the interior gilt. On the cover, a formalised shou (long life) character roundel within a band, with two ranks of peony scrolls, a key-fret border, and round the sides eight lotus sprays between borders of bats and key-fret; the sides of the box with the same decoration.
