Yabba pot 2002
RCIN 200000

Yabba pots have been used in Jamaica for food preparation and storage since the seventeenth century. In honour of The Queen’s Golden Jubilee in 2002, a crown was incorporated into the design of this pot. White slip (liquid clay) gives the stoneware a pale, creamy colour.
Jamaica was first stop on The Queen’s 2002 Golden Jubilee tour, which also included Australia and New Zealand. The pot was presented by the Governor-General of Jamaica, Sir Howard Felix Cooke.
