As well as an extensive collection of contemporary and historic British and European weapons, armour and other equipment, the Prince Regent also amassed a huge range of arms from further afield. This silver priming flask formed part of the lavish gift presented to the Prince Regent by the Dey of Algiers. Other gifts from Algeria included jewelled swords, fire arms, caparisons, saddles, and stirrups.

The silver horn encased in silver gilt-mounts chased with scrolls, flowers, military trophies and buildings. Topped by eight filigree rosette bosses and a coral finial. The silver foxtail chain is decorated with hanging facetted coral beads mounted in silver-gilt filigree settings. Two iron (?) prickers hang from  the attached foxtail chains.
