Presented to King George V by the seventh Yang di-Pertuan Besar, Tuanku Mohammed Shah ibni Almarhum Tuanku Antah, ruler of the state of Negeri Sembilan in Malaya (now Malaysia), in 1925.

According to the Court Circular for 10 July 1925, Tuanku Mohammed was received by the king at Buckingham Palace. It may have been on this occasion that the kris was presented. On the previous day, he had visited the Malaya Pavilion at the British Empire Exhibition in Wembley. Tuanku Mohammed’s son, Abdul Rahman, accompanied him on his visit to England and remained in the country to study law. He later became the first ruler of independent Malaysia in 1957.
