A hand-painted paper fan with roses and Korean calligraphy. With handle of bamboo wood and ivory/bone. Sits in wooden box with lid and red silk bag with floral embroidery and multi-coloured tassels.

The fan is inscribed with a poem composed by An-jin Ryu which reads:

Your Majesty from a far-away land of roses and whose grace exceeds those of the roses
We thank you for visiting Ha-Fae in Andong, a renowned and respected place of loyalty and hospitality in the east
The spring shines brighter with joy and light
We congratulate you as you celebrate your 73rd birthday here and wish you a long life
