The influence of the works of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood is again apparent in this watercolour by illustrator Harry George Theaker. There had been a revival of interest in this Victorian movement ever since the retrospective exhibition of the work of John Everett Millais, at the Grosvenor Gallery in 1886.
