A rectangular panel depicting three seated female figures: on the left Urania, semi-clothed, holding a Globe with stars, with stars around her head; in the centre, Calliope, facing the front, with a laurel wreath in her right hand and books on her left knee; and on the right, Melpomene, dressed in mauve and white, facing the left, a sword in her right hand and a crown?in her left.

The image of the complete ceiling is an attempt at arranging photographic reproductions of the canvases in their original location at The Queen's House during the 1980s.
