1616-41

RCIN 1050091

When Shakespeare was acting for the Lord Chamberlain’s Men he took one of the lead roles in the poet and playwright Ben Jonson’s Every Man in his Humour. Jonson published his collected works in 1616. This was the first time English plays were presented in this way, and Jonson’s collection paved the way for the publication of his friend and rival Shakespeare’s First Folio.
