This sketchbook contains working studies in ink by Giles. Many of the sketches are of deer and some relate directly to Giles's work for Queen Victoria. The sketchbook is open at drawings of deer in the Mar Forest, dated October 1849. Some of the inscriptions in the sketchbook also comment on the weather or his health. Purchased by HM The Queen in 1993
