CORNELIS VISSCHER (1629-58)

Portrait of an old woman in a bonnet

RCIN 906423

Cornelis Visscher was a renowned portrait draughtsman and engraver, and made many drawings on vellum of sitters in his home city of Haarlem. The fine, delicate pencil work, with a signature and date, show this drawing was intended as a work of art in its own right.
