JAN LIEVENS (1607-74)

A road bridge crossing a stream on the outskirts of a village

RCIN 906640

In his early career Jan Lievens worked closely with Rembrandt, the two sharing a studio in Leiden for over five years. His vigorous use of pen and ink in this late landscape recalls the drawing technique of his early studio partner.
