Queen Victoria and Prince Albert’s love of Highland dress was popularized through the dress of their children. This kilt, waistcoat and sporran was made for Prince Albert Edward, The Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII) and bought by Queen Victoria from the military tailors Meyer and Mortimer of Edinburgh and London. The kilt is woven from Stewart Dress Saxony tartan, a form of which is regularly worn by The Royal Family today.
