The Sassoons at The Jewish Museum [New York]

A group of eleven gifts from the Sassoon family to the Royal Family have been included in this wide-ranging exhibition at The Jewish Museum, New York. This exhibition studies the art patronage and networks of the Sassoon family, several of whom were connected with members of the Royal Family in the early twentieth century, including King Edward VII, Queen Mary and King Edward VIII. Sir Philip Sassoon entertained Queen Mary with tours of his residence and collection at Port Lympne, and his cousins Mozelle Sassoon and Hannah Gubbay presented the queen with several gifts.
