The Swedish-born photographer Oscar Gustave Rejlander is the subject of a new exhibition at the Canadian Photography Institute of the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa. Often referred to as 'the Father or Art Photography', Rejlander was a pioneer who greatly influenced photographers including Julia Margaret Cameron and Lewis Carroll. The Royal Collection contains a significant collection of Rejlander's works and the photographs going on loan to Ottawa were all collected by Prince Albert. The exhibition will transfer to the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles where it will be on view from 12 March until 9 June 2019.
