Making a Mark: Dutch and Flemish Drawings from the Royal Collection, 11 June – 26 September 2021

The largest selection of Dutch and Flemish drawings from the Royal Collection displayed together in public for 25 years are the focus of this exhibition, organised by Art History and Curation Masters’ students from the University of Birmingham in partnership with Royal Collection Trust and the Barber Institute. It features exquisite sketches and studies by sixteenth- and seventeenth-century masters including Rubens, Rembrandt, Van Dyck and Pieter Brueghel the Elder, as well as lesser-known but also talented artists such as Avercamp and Berchem, and also showcases several exemplary drawings from the Barber’s own collection. The show is enhanced by web-based video and essays, plus online events and activities throughout its run.
