The lady riding side-saddle is the epitome of elegance. Her rich clothing and fine horse mark her out as a romantic heroine. Her husband leads the way and a page reins in his horse behind. The landscape itself, with refined trees carefully spaced in the composition, echoes the overall impression of grace.
