    A volume, half bound in blue morocco and blue cloth, gold tooled. On letterpress title-page A / COMPLETE HISTORY / OF / THEATRICAL ENTERTAINMENTS, / DRAMAS, MASQUES AND TRIUMPHS / AT / THE ENGLISH COURT... INCLUDING A SERIES OF PLAYS PERFORMED BEFORE HER MAJESTY / AT WINDSOR CASTLE, CHRISTMAS, 1848-9/. On the spine:  HISTORY OF THEATRICAL ENTERTAINMENTS AT THE ENGLISH COURT.
     
    The book was published by John Mitchell in 1849 with steel engraved plates by Finden. This volume includes proof plates before letters and has seven of the original watercolours relating to these plates bound in.
