Grand Vestibule, Windsor Castle

Description

A silk scarf decorated with a scene of San|Bushmen hunting a herd of eland in the Drakensburg (Dragon) Mountains in the Eastern Cape, an area famous for rock art, dinosaur footprints and spectacular scenery. It is also the birthplace of Nelson Mandela.

Presented to Queen Elizabeth II by President Nelson Mandela of South Africa during his State Visit to the United Kingdom, 9–12 July 1996.
