Description

A groundplan of St James's Palace showing the palace's first floor in 1714 and a proposed extension to the south range. St James's Palace was the early Hanoverians' principal London residence. Vanbrugh's architectural design forms part of a larger set of proposals for St James's, none of which came to fruition.
