Illustration to Book 7 of the Bhagavata Purana, Chapter 5: Hiranyakashipu throws Prahlada off his lap after he again expresses devotion to Vishnu and orders his demons to kill him. The sage Shukracharya looks on as the king throws his son down from his throne onto the threshold of the palace pavilion. The boy's takti (writing board), on which is written an invocation to Vishnu, has fallen out of his hands.
