A woven straw tray decorated with cowrie shells. The cowrie shell is traditionally used for jewellery and decoration in Kiribati.
Provenance
Presented to Queen Elizabeth II by President Ieremia Tienang Tabai of Kiribati during a luncheon at Windsor Castle,10 April 1986. An eel trap (RCIN 32898) was also presented at this time.
