The Royal George Yacht was launched in 1817 and used by the Prince Regent. Johann Christian Schetky was a Scottish-born marine painter. From 1808 he was professor of drawing at the Royal Naval College in Portsmouth until its closure in 1837, and made many drawings and paintings of marine subjects at Portsmouth.Provenance
