A pen and ink and wash design for a medal showing the head of George III on the obverse and the garden front of Old Somerset House on the reverse. Both sides are drawn within wreaths on a feigned plaque. Purchased as a design for a medal for the Royal Academy, although no such medal is known. The design was engraved by Bartolozzi as the headpiece to the dedication of 'Dissertation on Oriental Gardening' by Sir William Chambers, 1772.

Purchased by the Prince Regent from Colnaghi, 12 June 1811 for £3 3s as 'A Drawing, Medal for the Royal Academy by Cipriani - fine' (Royal Archives GEO/MAIN/27638).
