A portrait drawing of Charles Alexis Brûlart, comte de Genlis (1737-1793), seated to right with his legs crossed and holding a sheet of paper in his hands. He is in a garden, with a domestic building behind him. The drawing is in a green, black and gold mount.
Inscribed on verso in ink in an early hand: 'Le Cte de genlis marie de la dame [illeg.] a laquelle S.A.S. Monsr Le duc de chartres vient de confier l'education de ses enfants' and 'no. 324' (the last digit corrected to a 9)Provenance
