A drawing of the shore at Scheveningen crowded with people, carriages, carts and horses; with several Dutch boats on the beach or being launched. In the centre of the fleet is the Naseby, renamed the next day the Royal Charles. Inscribed in ink by the artist along the top margin: 1660 den 23 meij den Hartogh van Jorck gaend inde morge naer d floot, soo daer wiert geseght haer den eedt van getrouheijt afte nemen (The 23 May 1660 the Duke of York going to the fleet in the morning, it is said to administer the oath of allegiance)
