A porcelain dessert stand with pierced basket dish and central recess with bouquets of national flowers within a pale blue and gilt trallis pattern border raised on a Pineapple stem with green serated leaves with felt disc beneath the pineapple. Understood to be a trial piece for the Coronation Service.
Provenance
Understood to be a sample piece relating to the Coronation Service commissioned by William IV 1830 which was delivered in 1837 and first used at Queen Victoria's coronation banquet, 1838. This dessert stand purchased by Her Majesty The Queen at Neale's, Nottingham, 8 July 1998.
