Egg-shaped box of pink guilloché enamel, the lid is set with a domed rock crystal with rose diamond surround; the body is hung with crossed yellow gold laurel swags suspended from rose diamonds. The egg has a cabochon emerald thumbpiece and a gadrooned base. Fabergé produced boxes, pendants and even cups in the form of eggs and there are numerous examples of these objects in the Royal Collection.
