A reversed engraving stated by Ruland (1876) to 'probably' have been made from the original sketch for the fresco Joseph sold by his brothers painted by the workshop of Raphael (c.1517-19) in the vault of the seventh bay of the Raphael Loggia in the Vatican. Lettered with the engraver's monogramme (Nagler, I, 2098) and the date. First state. Trimmed, irregularly, on all edges.
