-
A print reproducing, in reverse, the allegorical figure of Temperance, painted next to Pope Clement I to the right of the fresco of The Vision of the Cross, executed by Raphael's workshop in the Sala di Costantino in the Vatican between 1520 and 1524. Dated and lettered with production details. Numbered at lower left: 3. Trimmed within the platemark. Not in Ruland (1876).
This print is listed as an addition in the master copy of Ruland's catalogue (1876). Nevertheless, this is pasted on the folio sheet and the organisation of the Raphael Collection is believed to have been largely completed by 1876.Provenance
