A facsimile of the recto of a drawing by Raphael now in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford (inv. no. WA1846.179 r). Lettered with description of image, production details and provenance of the work (collection of Pierre Crozat). Numbered in the lower right corner: 46. Annotated in pencil at upper right: 124. Published in Recueil de Crozat, Paris 1729, plate 46.
The drawing has been formerly connected with the fresco of The Victory at Ostia painted in the Stanza dell'Incendio in the Vatican in c.1514-15. It is now generally thought to be a much earlier work dated c.1507-08.Provenance
