Parker (see Bibliographic References) in the catalogue of the Italian drawings at the Ashmolean Museum, catalogued the drawing as anonymous, noting that only Woodburn and Passavant thought it to be by Raphael, while Robinson suggested it was by one of the scholars or imitators of Raphael.Provenance
