-
A print thought to be after a lost design by Giulio Romano. Signed on plate. This is a late state with attribution of the design to Raphael at lower right: R.V.I. The lower lettered margin has been cut out. Ruland (1876) mentioned a drawing by Giulio Romano then in the collection of M. Gatteaux in Paris which he believed to be the original design upon which this plate was based.
The print shows the archangels Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael adoring the Virgin and Child who sit on clouds.Provenance
