A photograph of a drawing by Raphael (c.1507-08) currently in the Gabinetto Disegni e Stampe degli Uffizi, Florence (inv. no.501E). Ruland (1876) listed the drawing as being in the collection of Archduke Albert at Vienna. This may have been an inaccuracy.
The photograph shows the half-length seated Virgin, holding the Christ Child on her lap, who clutches His mother's bodice while turning His head away from her towards the beholder.Provenance
