An etching after the so-called Madonna della Quercia, a painting attributed to Raphael and his workshop (c.1518-19) now in the Museo del Prado, Madrid (inv. no.303) generally reputed to be after a design by the master. Lettered at lower left with attribution of the design to Raphael, and engraver's name.
Showing the full length Virgin seating under an oak tree, holding the Christ Child on her right knee, who reaches for the inscribed scroll held by the young St John the Baptist who stands at left, with St Joseph resting on a sculpted fragment at right and looking on; in a landscape.Provenance
