A photograph of a drawing attributed to Raphael now in the Scottish National Gallery, Edinburgh (inv. no.D5342), related to the so-called Madonna del Pesce, a painting by Raphael and his workshop currently in the Museo del Prado, Madrid (inv. no.297). For a photograph of the painting, see RCIN 850952. Another photograph of the drawing can be found at RCIN 850957.
The drawing – which Ruland (1876) listed as being then in the collection of the Grand Duke of Saxe-Weimar – closely resembles an engraving attributed to Marco Dente, for which it is generally believed to have served as model. For an impression of Marco Dente's engraving, see RCIN 850955.Provenance
