A photograph of a cartoon fragment catalogued by Ruland (1876) as being then in the possession of William Russell, Esq and now in the British Museum, London (inv. no. 1926,0412.1).
The fragment corresponds to a portion of the so-called Madonna del Divino Amore (c.1516), a painting currently attributed to Raphael’s workshop and now in the Museo e Gallerie Nazionali di Capodimonte, Naples (inv. no.146).
The photographed cartoon fragment shows the seated Virgin holding the Christ Child on her lap, with St Elizabeth at her side.Provenance
